On Friday the 20th of August, the Transit Officer Unit and this Union suffered a terrible loss. Senior Transit Officer Michael Ioppolo, who also held the position of Security Sub Branch Vice President, passed away in very tragic circumstances whilst snorkelling.

The RTBU wishes to express its deepest sympathies and condolences to all his friends, family, and to the Unit itself. To lose a friend, colleague, or loved one is never easy!

We understand this message may be difficult to process. Please know I have worked with the PTA over the weekend to ensure additional assistance is available to help you deal with this loss in the coming days and weeks that you may experience.
