Dear Members —

The nomination period for the upcoming RTBU National & RTBU WA Casual Vacancy and Insufficient Nomination Elections has now opened.

If you already hold a position, please know you do NOT need to re-nominate.

Nominations must reach the Returning Officer via the approved lodgement method(s) stipulated by no later than 5:00 pm (AWST) on 11 March 2024.

• National Nomination Form – use it if you wish to nominate for the vacant National position.
• WA Nomination Form – use it if you wish to nominate for a vacant Western Australia Branch Office or Sub-Branch position.

Members are advised that the following areas on the WA Nomination Form mean:

•  ‘Division’ is Not Applicable
•  ‘Work Location’ is your Depot or Home Line etc.
•  ‘Classification’ is your Occupation or Job Title etc.

When nominating for a Sub Branch position (more commonly known as a Delegate position) the “Sub Branch” is the Sub Branch for which you belong:

• Passenger is either Urban Rail, Security, Trans WA, Customer Relations, State N&I, Federal N&I, or Miscellaneous.
• Freight is either Goldfields, Metro, Mid-West, South-West, Wheatbelt, Metropolitan, Regional, or Freight Infrastructure.

The exact title of any position (and whether it’s an office or non-office position) that you may wish to nominate can be located on the Election Notice sent to all members and also posted on our website.

Further, your membership number is located on your Union Card (labelled Staff No & starts with an L or an R). Alternatively, you can contact the Union Office to obtain your membership details or anything else required for the forms.

We encourage interested members to nominate to fill vacant positions within the Freight Section and Passenger Section Sub-Branches. An active union is a strong union and finding good people who can work together is key to our strength.
